Lockdown Diaries : Acknowledging our emotions..

Lot of us ignore our mental health thinking it's for the weakest and/or it's for the those with chronic issues. The truth is, many of us including me doesn't acknowledge or address the constant fear or anxiety in this pandemic. It started off somewhere in China then Italy then rest of the world..slowly in to your town and now, someone in your street or apartment or someone in your circle has it.  Some of us can't stop thinking the symptoms of the virus even though cold and headache is common otherwise. I'm writing this because I'm strongest and bravest as a person, however I have to admit I would've hallucinated having the virus almost every week especially after my trips to grocery shops or when I have headache or blocked nose (due to freezing weather). Constant fear or anxiety is draining and tiring.. I cover it up nicely by ignoring or distracting myself with a good episode of Netflix. Are you like me going through this?   What I realised is we don't ...

10 days of gratitude - 1. My Anxiety

Image
I’m planning to write about 10 things that I’m grateful for.. that's everyday until Christmas. First one in the list is My  Anxiety   There was a time , you were totally invisible to me, I never noticed you even existed, That’s when I was young and carefree! Then came a phase in my life, I know you existed; I didn’t give a thought to know your name, I was too focused on my situation, All I know was, you were giving me sleepless nights.. Then came a phase I was curious to know your name, but I was already in the process of managing you. I had a "plan of attack", I looked for ways to   help me overcome you, I won’t say I’m completely under control, But I’m handling you better!! I’m thankful for my friends who helped me on this process. I’m glad I know my triggers to anxiety otherwise I wouldn't have known myself. I’m grateful for those sleepless nights that helped me re-discover myself....
