Wo(a)ndering thoughts!!!

Be A Man! have you heard of this phrase? May be not if you are a Woman. It is only applicable for Men as in male gender isn't??  Don't we all have both Testosterone and Estrogen?  Depends on which one is stronger, we decide who we are right?? Gender equality is debated for decades and it is still a HOT topic.. In western world, everyone "acts" like gender equality is the norm, but it exists subtly and strongly everywhere.. Especially for some with higher testosterone levels, it even takes a toll on their ego if Women is equally intellectual or successful.. Women in the "Male" dominated fields (Leaders/Politicians/Police/Law/Media/ every other field for that matter) have to act like one and be like one.. Pressure for them is emotionally high, they have to "Be a man" all the time.. Its end of 2017, its time to celebrate!!! What are we celebrating!?  If you list down all the things you have done this year by day and month, you will be surprised to see it yourself how much you have done, changed, tolerated, grew, learnt, redefined, helped, blessed, laughed, cried .. Any feel-good times and the bad times to be thankful for.. This holiday season is to think about all those times and celebrate them. Celebration will give a sense of achievement. Resolutions : I don’t usually set any goal for myself; I think goals will limit my potential or worse I get disappointed with myself for not keeping up. We all have enough of that depressing/disappointing things happening around us. Lyrics can be so dominant sometimes, you tend to forget about the music in the background and just concentrate on those lines.. Good lyrics composed in a bad music will never get attention. However, good music with good or bad or no lyrics can get its attention. That’s power of Music. If the lyrics are in the language I’m familiar with, I try to listen to the lines. Its high time I changed my title card.. Blogspot has limited options to do a big "makeover".. But whatever inbuilt options I had, I picked the one that suited.. I think I will slowly improvise it as it suits my need. Tada!! Introducing my New theme with a New blog title.. I started this blog as a sarcastic response to people who were curious about my life when I was a SAHM - "what do you do all day??" .. My fav response was  Im busy doing nothing ..I still feel my life can be explained with just those 4 words. But friend of mine suggested that I must change my blog title that reflects my present-ME..I really appreciate her feedback and now what you see is not just the title change and also change in the look and feel.. Im now ready to move away from my personal favorite life tagline BUSY DOING NOTHING  to WO(A)NDERING THOUGHTS .  As my mind is always  Wondering and Wandering , I thought this mirrored my mind perfectly... what do you think? Yesterday I participated in a discussion on ‘ Dowry Violence in Australia’ organised by Human Rights-Australiasia as part of 16 days of activism campaign against gender- violence. Discussion panel had students from different countries (India, SriLanka, Pakistan, African, Afghan). It was a open discussion however this event is to get youth perspective on Dowry Violence. What is Dowry? Most of us from South Asian Community know what it is, but let me  just  explain what it is in simple terms for my friends who are new to hearing the word Dowry. History: Dowry used to be a simple gesture of giving gifts to brides by bride’s parents during the wedding..Gifts is something that bride’s parents can afford & willing to give to the bride. it started in those  days when women didn’t have rights to any assets nor had any rights to work. Gifts are anything from pots and pans to jewellery depending on bride’s parents affordability. Dowry is an “EXTRA” or “ADDITIONAL” gift to t

My baby A has graduated from his kinder today. He crossed the cub stage and going to Primary School starting from Feb 2018.. What can I say? It is emotional and nerve-racking for the mum. Schools are meant to be their REAL world. He seems to care-less, it is me and my mother’s instinct worries about everything. He is neither overly excited like he is going on a Holiday nor underplaying the curiosity when he talks about his new school here and there.. Down under especially in Victoria, Kids start with 4yr old Kinder garden (not compulsory although most do) offered by public/private child cares or independent/government schools and it is 15hrs per week .Kids start schooling from Primary school (Foundation Year then Grades 1  to 6 ) and move on to Secondary school(Grades 7  to 12) .
