"Overwhelmed" February
February is officially the snowed-under month for me, I guess it is the same for most parents who have children at school.

Another academic year begins at the end of January, so all the after-school activities also kick-off. There is no doubt that children have to get back to routine and to set their sleeping clock back into a reasonable time.
As a parent, it is a Groundhog time of the year - first I must remember to register for all those after-school activities and remember to pay for the classes. Some accept cash only which means I have to keep cash ready. Another worst thing is to remember the class timings from last year. After almost 6 weeks of break, I don't know what time that class used to be - is it 5 or 5.30 or is it 7 or 7.15!!!
Once I sort out all the registration and timings, the week begins like someone hit the fast-forward button and honestly, I like the 7 hrs of school time which keeps my day balanced. When the clock hit 5pm, another round of rushy rush to drive around for classes.
Don't get me started on different uniforms for different things they do at school- formal, sports, house color, and different socks/shoes to go with each of these uniforms. WHO comes up with an idea that formal uniforms to be WHITE? Have they seen those collars after use!!! Errrrrr<frustration>
Did I mention the notifications, the number of notifications we receive from school, especially the first two weeks is just insane. I check my phone after work and I already missed 50 notifications from school out of which 10 things to register and pay and 20 other things to put in my calendar as important dates. On top of that, my WhatsApp parent group was bombarded with 100 new notifications - people clarifying those 50 notifications the school sent. It's totally a FOMO reading the messages without reading the school notifications.
I really hope it gets better after term 1 with the new routine, new school, new year, and all that is new to first-time middle school parents.
6 weeks to Term break - Are we there yet?
