Family Time..

G and I grewup from a  small town and our granny's are from same village.. So most of our summer holidays spent at our granny's... on a hot day(Which is pretty much everyday) board games like  Palangkuzhi  ,Thayam (Ludo) ,Snake & Ladder will keep all the grand kids home and later when the day cools down we play backyard cricket, Gilli..

Those days, not every house had TV  forget about Smartphones/Wifi/Netflix/Foxtel/ Comcast..G and I always talked about  those summer holidays and how much fun we had playing with all our cousins.. Indeed a memory to Cherish...

We always felt A will miss out on those fun, least we could do is to introduce those board games to him. We enjoy playing those games ourselves and we thought board games would make an excellent family time activity. Recently we have been playing quite often with A too , he is too young to think ahead(To get a 3 in the dice to win etc.,) but it helps him count and know the rules/game better each time we play.. We don't usually make him Win most of the time just to teach him there is Win-lose in any game.He is used to it now.. Once I lost so bad in Ludo with all my coins inside and he won straight. Half-way through he said 'Ma, maybe you switch seats with me..it might help you getting One in the dice'. :)

Pic of us playing Indian Ludo (Thayam) with our morning Cuppa..
Do you see our Indian Ludo board Laminated.. Yesss!!!! We made it professional..Do you spot the Indian Ludo dice  in the pic? its made of Copper..

We play monopoly too which is such a classic of all games, its very hard to explain Money and building something on your place etc., to a 4yr old..  but he loves to throw dice , move his coin and going to Jail..haha.. I can really see this makes our family time even more fun.. whats your family time activity?  Curious to know, drop in your thoughts..
